New Hampshire

New Hampshire passed efficiency standards in 2008 through Senate Bill 259, An Act establishing state appliance and equipment energy efficiency standards (RSA 339-G). The standards do not apply to new products manufactured in the state and sold outside the state, new products manufactured outside the state and sold at wholesale in the state for final retail sale and installation outside the state, or products installed in mobile manufactured homes at the time of construction. The legislation allows for the state's Public Utilities Commission to establish more stringent standards for the covered appliances in RSA 339-G and to recommend to the legislature new efficiency standards for products not covered in RSA 339-G.
